In order to help parents and students keep up with our class topics, assignments, and due dates, I will update my page at least once a week during the school year. I will always try to follow the plan on each class page, but there may be times when we have to change that plan in order to best meet the needs of our students. EDUCATION I received my Masters of Education in Instructional Technology from Cardinal Stritch University in August of 2009. Prior to that, I received my bachelors degree in business administration from Marquette in 1983 and teacher certification from Concordia University-Wisconsin in January of 2005. PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND BUSINESS BACKGROUND I was honored to have won the North Teacher of the Year award in spring of 2008 and the Superintendent's Child Advocacy Award in 2009. After managing my family's Brookfield hardware store for 20 years, I went back to school in 2003 to earn my teaching certifications. My retail background in marketing, human resources, accounting, information systems, and management allows me to help all of my students learn and grow. Our Vision As a community, we will continuously strive to create a meaningful learning environment for each student every day. Our Values We value respect of everyone, education and our environment. Our Goals Smart Goal #1: The North staff will differentiate reading and ELA instruction so the mean MAP Growth Target score for all students in both language arts and reading equals the score representative of the 80th percentile .
Smart Goal #2: All departments will implement PDSA short-cycle, common assessments for all content areas to support individual student learning and inform classroom instruction within 3-5 years so that the school is performing at 80th percentile.
Smart Goal #3: In 3-5 years, we believe seamless integration of technology literacy needs to be implemented through real world applications in everyday life; all teachers will achieve 100% proficiency on Staff Information and Technology skills.
